Nexus Technology's Module Reduction (MR) Technology™

DDR3 Digital Validation in Only One or Two Modules

Nexus Technology's Module Reduction Technology™ is available with select DDR3 products. This technology allows for full acquisition including command, address, read and write data while cutting the Tektronix logic analyzer module requirement in half. The number of TLA7BB4 modules required for either DDR3-1867 & DDR3-1600 acquisition is reduced from four to two when using MR Technology™. The number of TLA7BB4 modules required for DDR3-1333 or slower acquisition is reduced from two to one when using MR Technology™. Module Reduction Technology™ is a software solution. No qualifier sideband signals are required and no active circuitry is implemented in MR Technology™ which would otherwise force double-probing and increase the load on the DDR3 target.

Nexus Technology recommends embedded logic analyzer software solutions for applications where a standard connector is not available or where there is a desire to directly probe the target board. The DDR3 protocol decode, data eye sample point analysis, and protocol violation software available with these solutions allow for quick and easy logic analyzer acquisition and analysis of command, address, read, and write data of DDR3 buses at speeds up to DDR3-1867. Module Reduction Technology™ is available for embedded solutions using Tektronix TLA7Bxx module(s), cutting the logic analyzer module requirements in half.

Flexible DDR3 SODIMM Digital Validation

Nexus Technology recommends DDR3 SODIMM slot interposers for applications where the customer must have the greatest flexibility in the probing of different DDR3 SODIMMs. This DDR3-1600 SODIMM slot interposer allows for logic analyzer acquisition of command, address, read and write data of 204-pin, unbuffered or registered DDR3-1600. This product also supports slower speeds of DDR3, including DDR3-1333, DDR3-1067 and DDR3-800. The following SODIMMs are supported: PC3-12800, PC3-10600, PC3-8500, and PC3-6400. This interposer implements Module Reduction Technology™ cutting the logic analyzer module requirements in half.

Nexus Technology recommends DDR3 component interposer for applications requiring optimal digital and analog validation of speeds up to DDR3-1867 or for embedded applications, in general. These interposers allow for logic analyzer and/or oscilloscope acquisition of command, address, read, and write data of x4, x8 and/or x16 DDR3 memory components at speeds up to DDR3-1867 and provide visibility of the DDR3 signals as seen by the memory components.
