FBD (Fully Buffered DIMM) Oscilloscope Probing Kit

The NEX-TDSFBDP probing kit enables the probing of the high speed Pt-Pt serial link for FB-DIMM. The kit includes four, blank FB-DIMM modules, ten Tip-Clip assemblies Tek P/N 020-2639-xx or 020-2657-00, and a strip of 100-ohm, surface-mount resistors. The NEX-TDSFBDP kit, used along with the Tektronix P7313 Z-ActiveTM Differential probe and the TDS6000C Series Digital Storage Oscilloscope, provides >12GHz system bandwidth for FB-DIMM validation and compliance measurements. Right angle Tip-Clips can be purchased from Tektronix (Tek P/N 020-2638-xx or 020-2536-xx).

For DIMM Transmitter Testing

The test fixture created using the FB-DIMM probing kit can be used to test DIMM transmitter compliance (at the receiver test point). A system or a CTC (Compliance Test Card) can be used to put the DIMM into a compliance test pattern mode. In this case, the fixture will be placed in the adjacent slot just "south" of the DIMM under test.

For System Transmitter Testing

The test fixture created using the FB-DIMM probing kit can also be used to test system transmitter compliance (at the receiver test point). In this case, the fixture will be placed in the first FB-DIMM slot "south" of the controller.
